Our Rail Planner App currently has a timetable issue regarding the OBB NightJet. For instance the Munich-Bologna route. Despite being a direct train ride, the app divides the journey from Munich to Villach and Villach to Bologna, resulting in two travel days being used instead of one, which is inconvenient for customers. The issue is known and our timetable team is working to fix it.
For now, we suggest that customers add the train to their itinerary manually. To do this, simply scroll to the bottom of the search results in the planner when looking for the route.
To ensure a smooth booking process, we kindly request that you make your reservations directly through ÖBB Nightjet's website. Here are the steps to follow for booking reservations on Austrian domestic trains and international trains that arrive or depart in Austria:
- Choose your route and click on the "One-way tickets and day tickets" option in the search results.
- Before selecting your train, go to the top right corner and click on "Who is going?" Then, click "Add discount" and search for "Interrail/Eurail – Globalpass." Select it and confirm.
- You can now select your preferred train and see the Pass Holder reservation fee you need to pay.
- Proceed with the booking process and finalize your reservation. Note that some routes require printing the reservation at an ÖBB self-service machine or helpdesk in Austria.
- For most seat reservations, you do not need to select the "Globalpass" tariff. Simply choose "Seat reservation only (no ticket)" under "Find Services" and follow the usual steps.
